This week we were exploring process art. In this case, the focus of the art project was not on the final project, but the process. We examined the different steps in order to get a desired finish.
The steps for this project took places over a series of days.
Day 1: Cut cardboard. Add glue pattern. Stick on thick yarn over the glue pattern. Let dry.
Day 2: Add more glue over entire surface. Attach aluminum foil. Let dry.
Day 3: Rub down the aluminum foil so that the yarn pattern shows through.
Day 4: Color around the yarn pattern so that it stays silver.
The children really enjoyed this process, and were so committed to it. The end result looks pretty awesome as well!
