Swimming will start again soon!

Dear Parents,

On the 12th April 2015 children from K2 will be participating in the semester two swimming lessons as part of the Physical Education program offered at TKS. These lessons will take place during the your child’s two regular PE sessions each week for a total of four weeks.

Students will continue to work on their swimming skills and water safety in small groups of 5-6 students per certified swim instructor.  Each group will be with the same instructor throughout the unit (they are placed in leveled groups based on skill progression). Instructional time is organized so that each child can progress at his or her own pace and skill level.  The program is a progressive sequence of skills based on the American Red Crescent Aquatic Program.  This program focuses on water confidence, swimming skills and stroke technique in addition to teaching children to be safe around water.  Once the lesson is over, the children will change back into their school clothes in the locker room, and head back to the classes in ECC 2 building.

Please send the following items in a swim bag or a plastic bag:
-                 Bathing suit
-                 Towel
-                 Goggles
-                 Comb/brush
-                 Swimming caps are required for long haired swimmers

Flip-flops are okay to wear on the pool deck, but often get lost; bare feet are fine.
Please label everything.

Goggles are best if they have a silicone rim around the eyes.  Caps, goggles and suits are available at the pool office for sale or may be purchased at any sports / swim shop in Jeddah.

All other equipment will be provided. Children, who have swimming in the first block at 8:15am, need to wear their swimming suits under their clothes and remember to send their underclothes.

Please note that if your child has diarrhea, a fever or yellow/green discharge from the nose, they should not be at school and therefore they will not be swimming.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely
